Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Will your applications run on my Palm Pre or Palm Pixi smartphone?
-
Yes. Our applications should run on all WebOS devices (including the Palm Pre and Pixi).
- Will your applications run on my Apple iPhone?
-
No, our software is designed to run on WebOS devices only. It will not run on the Apple iPhone.
- Will your applications run on a Blackberry or Microsoft Windows Mobile smartphone?
-
No, our software is designed to run on WebOS devices only. It will not run on any other types of smartphones.
- How can I get your applications installed on my Palm Pre device?
-
Our applications will be available through the Palm App Catalog. This is the easiest way for you to purchase, download,
and install our apps on your Palm Pre phone.
- Do you have a phone number I can call for technical support?
-
To keep our software costs down, we only provide support via Email. If you send
an email to support@cohosoft.com with a detailed description of the issue, we
should respond to you often times within a few hours.
- I've sent you a few emails, and I never got a response... what should I do?
-
Most likely we did respond to your emails, however, you have a spam filter activated that is stopping them from
reaching you. AOL.com has a spam filter that seems to stop our emails occasionally without the owner knowing
about it (these emails don't appear in their spam folder). In these cases, the best thing to do is create a
"disposable" email account with yahoo.com, excite.com, hotmail.com, etc. and send us an email with your question.
We will respond to that email, and it shouldn't be blocked by a spam filter (if you don't activate it).
- Is there a way to download and install your software Over-The-Air (OTA)?
- Yes, you can do so by using the Palm App Catalog which is available
on your Palm Pre device.
- I just upgraded jVault from version 1.0.2 to 1.0.3 and now the program won't accept my password for my existing wallet database. What should I do?
-
Some users who have upgraded noticed that their passwords were not being accepted for their existing wallet database.
When entering any character that requires you to press the shift or orange symbol key, make sure you hold that button
down while you are pressing the desired key. For example, to enter the capital letter "K", hold down the shift key AND
then press the k key at the same time. The same goes for any other characters that requires the shift key and symbol key.
- I tried using the email backup feature of jVault, and it seems to take a long time... is it working?
-
The email backup feature will convert all the data in the jVault database to encoded (and encrypted) text that will be inserted into the body of an email message.
It might take several minutes for this encoding process (depending on the number of records in the database), so you need to be patient and wait for it to complete.
In some cases, if you don't have sufficient memory or storage space the app may not complete the backup process. In that case, you may need to reboot your Palm device
to recover more memory for the operation.
- Is there a limit on the size of the jVault database that I can backup using the email feature?
-
If you don't have enough available system memory, the backup operation may fail. In that case, you will need to reboot your Palm device to recover more memory. Also, there may
be a limit on the amount of text that you can put in a email message on the Palm device. We're not positive on the actual text size limit, but we have been able to process 500+ cards
that are entered in jVault successfully.
- Is there a way to manually backup the database file that jVault uses?
-
Yes. The user guide for jVault explains how you can copy the jVault database file from the Palm device to your Windows PC or Apple Mac via a USB sync cable.
- Do you have a version of jVault Desktop that will run on an Apple Mac or Linux system?
-
No. Our jVault Desktop software will only run on Windows PC OS machines. We do have future plans of creating a version for the Apple Mac, but that may be a while. In the meantime, you
use a product called CrossOver which allows you to run Windows application in a Mac OS X environment. CrossOver is a commercialized version of Wine
which is used to emulate the Windows x86 librarie files, etc. so you can run Windows Apps on the Mac. I've tested it with my iMac running Snow Leopard and it works great.
- I just purchased software from your site using PayPal, but I haven't received my activation code. What should I do?
-
Once your PayPal purchase transaction is verified, you will be sent an activation code via email (to the email address associated with your PayPal account). This is an automated process,
so you should get this email within a few minutes of your purchase. If you don't, please double check you PayPal receipt to make sure you are checking the right email address. Also,
double check that the email from Cohosoft.com isn't caught in a spam filter with your email system.
- For software sold on the Cohosoft.com web site, what is your refund policy?
-
All of the software sold on our web site have a trial version available, so we encourage customers to download the trial version and test it throughly before making your
purchase. As such, we do not offer refunds for purchased software.
